Images and diagrams can be used to visually explain the text that is contained in the document. The creation of images can be performed by listing visual elements, functional processes and selecting an application example.

Visual Elements - Visual elements are components of an image (such as a diagram) that contain identifiable characteristics (shapes or colors). It can be helpful to gather and review other diagrams that cover similar content to identify key visual elements (such as devices, symbols or items). Those who are unable to sketch well can make a list of visual elements and provide a basic text description.

Functional Processes - Functional processes are the steps and associated operations that occur between devices or elements. By identifying and describing the relationships between devices or elements, a list of functional processes can be created.

Application Example - Application examples are specific implementations or uses of the topic or concept that is being described or visualized. By selecting an application example, names of items can be selected, key processes identified, and sample values assigned.

This figure shows how diagrams can be created by identifying visual elements and their processes, and choosing a sample application. For a section of text in a white paper that will be expressed as an image, a list of visual elements is created (name list, blogs, articles videos). Their functional relationships are defined, a name list is used to search, found pages are captured and a summary report is generated. An application example identifies this is for company “ClickCo” that has two brands “BrandGo” and “BrandFast” and is tracking the products “GoProd1” and “GoProd2”.
