White Paper Usage Guidelines
White paper usage guidelines define how Althos may use
and promote the content that is contained within white
papers that are submitted.
Content Ownership
White papers are provided to
Althos on a non-exclusive basis, while the rights to the
content remain with the white paper creator. Althos may
create new content, such as descriptions, audio podcasts
and videos, the rights to which they own.
The submitter of the white paper retains the rights to
use the content. Content ownership may stem from the
creation of original content or the licensing of content
that belongs to other people or companies.
The submitted work must be original or licensed from the
owner. Work that is taken from unauthorized sources
(such as copied from other web sites without written
permission) is not allowed and will be removed from our
publication sites. If copyright infringement is
determined, the submitting company may be banned from
any future white paper submissions.
White Paper Security
The white paper will be
distributed in Adobe PDF format without a password. It
is acceptable and recommended to set the security in the
white paper PDF file to restrict the copying of text. We
recommend that the security be set to allow for printing
(at least 150 dpi).
Registration
The white paper download will
require a user registration form, wherein users must
submit a name and an email address. While Althos will
attempt to verify the validity of registration
information, we do not guarantee that the submitter
provides accurate information.
Delivery
The registrant for white
papers will be immediately provided with a download link
upon successful registration. If the recipient is not
able to download the white paper, Althos may provide a
new link in an email or attach the white paper directly
to the email message.
Promotion
Althos may promote the white
paper using a mixture of paid advertising (such as pay
per click search engine advertising), email broadcasting
(to selected magazine subscribers or book buyers), or
listing white papers on other web sites that are not
directly owned or controlled by Althos.
Use of Names and Logos
Unless agreed to in writing,
the white paper will be promoted in connection with the
sponsor’s logo and name. When the logo and name are
used, they will be directly associated with the white
paper.
Tracking Links
Althos may insert links into
the white paper that allow for the tracking of user
interaction with the white paper. We may choose to embed
links that include tracking codes to allow for the
identification or interaction of readers with the white
paper. This means that the white paper must be delivered
in a form that can be modified (not password protected).
Contact Information
Contact information for
readers must be provided within the white paper. Contact
information for the submitting company or agency will be
treated as private information and will not be listed on
our publication sites.
